This Refund & Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) applies to registrations made for the IPAA Felicitation Dinner (“Event”) organised by the Intellectual Property Attorneys’ Association (“IPAA” or “Organizer”).
1. Registration Fees
The registration fees for the Event are:

The registration fee is payable in advance at the time of registration.
2. No Cancellation by Attendee
Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Accordingly, no refund shall ordinarily be provided where an Attendee:
- decides not to attend the Event;
- is unable to attend for personal or professional reasons;
- changes his/her plans;
- arrives late or leaves the Event early;
- registers under an incorrect category;
- provides incorrect or incomplete information; or
- otherwise fails to attend the Event.
However, if an Attendee is unable to attend the event due to any emergent medical reason, the Attendee may write to IPAA at ec@ipaaindia.org along with sufficient proof, after the event and latest by 30th October, 2026. The Executive Committee of IPAA shall then decide on the refund of the amount, whose decision shall be final.
3. Non-Transferability
A confirmed registration may not be transferred, assigned or sold to another person.
The QR code issued following registration is intended solely for the registered Attendee.
4. Cancellation by the Organizer
If IPAA cancels the Event, the Organizer shall notify registered Attendees using the contact details provided during registration.
In such circumstances, the registration fee paid for the cancelled Event shall be refunded, subject to the terms of the applicable payment gateway and the availability of the transaction details necessary to process the refund. Such refunds shall be made latest by 30th November, 2026 by IPAA.
5. Postponement or Change of Venue
If the Event is postponed or the venue is changed rather than cancelled, IPAA may, at its discretion, either:
- treat the existing registration as valid for the rescheduled Event; or
- where appropriate, provide an alternative arrangement or refund mechanism.
The Organizer shall communicate any material postponement or venue change to registered Attendees as reasonably practicable.
6. Cancellation Due to Attendee Conduct or False Information
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel a registration or deny admission where:
- false, misleading or fraudulent information has been provided;
- the Attendee is found not to qualify for the registration category selected;
- membership details provided by an Attendee cannot be verified;
- the Attendee violates the Terms & Conditions; or
- the Attendee engages in inappropriate, disruptive, abusive or unlawful conduct.
A cancellation or denial of admission for any of these reasons shall be without refund.
7. Duplicate or Unsuccessful Transactions
If a payment is debited more than once for the same registration due to a technical or payment-processing error, the duplicate amount shall be refunded after verification of the transaction within a period of 10 business days.
Where a payment has failed and the amount is nevertheless debited from the Attendee’s bank account or payment instrument, the matter may be subject to the payment gateway’s settlement and reconciliation process. Any refund of such amount will be processed in accordance with the applicable payment gateway’s procedures.
8. Refund Processing
Where a refund is approved, it will ordinarily be processed through the payment method or payment gateway used for the original transaction, wherever technically and reasonably possible.
The time taken for the refunded amount to appear in the Attendee’s account may depend upon the payment gateway, bank or card/payment-service provider and is outside IPAA’s control.
9. No Cash Refund
Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed electronically and not in cash.
10. Taxes and Transaction Charges
Where a refund is required, the amount refunded may be subject to the treatment of applicable taxes, payment-processing charges or other amounts that cannot reasonably be recovered from the payment service provider, subject to applicable law.

12. Acceptance
By completing registration and making payment, the Attendee confirms that he/she has read and accepted this Refund & Cancellation Policy.
